The Sunnystones way

No taxis home at midnight. No strangers in the next function room. Just your people, all weekend.

Camp Sunnystones isn’t a wedding factory. It’s a much-loved family property that becomes entirely yours from Friday afternoon to Sunday.

Say your vows on the lower terrace with the Macedon Ranges on the horizon. For the reception, the choice is yours: eat and dance in our architecturally designed stone homestead, or raise a marquee or tipi on the wedding lawn. Then, instead of goodbyes, keep the fire pits going and wake up to kookaburras and a big shared breakfast with everyone still there.

The shape of it is simple. Arrive Friday afternoon, settle in, and spend the evening around the fire pits. Marry on Saturday. Then let Sunday go slowly, with a lazy breakfast and a 2pm checkout. Or, on The Long Weekend, stay for a Sunday night under the stars and head home on Monday morning.

It’s a true DIY-friendly venue: bring your own caterer or food trucks and your own drinks, and make the weekend unmistakably yours.

Make it yours

Your caterer. Your drinks. Your rules (well, almost).

We’re proudly DIY-friendly, which is rarer than it should be. Bring the taco truck, the family paella pan, the case of wine from your uncle’s vineyard. Our commercial kitchen makes it easy for any caterer to work their magic.

Need a starting point? Past couples have loved Happy Camper Pizza, and we keep a full list of recommended caterers, food trucks and suppliers, just ask.

The “almost”: amplified music switches off at 11pm on Saturdays (10pm Fridays) out of respect for our neighbours. Lots of our couples keep the dance floor going with a silent disco, and the fire pits and acoustic guitars come into their own.

Questions couples ask

The practical stuff

How late can the music go?
Amplified music switches off at 11pm on Saturday nights and 10pm on Fridays. After that, lots of couples keep dancing with a silent disco, or the party moves to the fire pits, which many tell us is their favourite part of the night.
What if it rains?
The stone homestead hall seats every guest, so both ceremony and reception have an all-weather backup on site.
Do we have to organise everything ourselves?
With The Blank Canvas, yes. That’s the freedom of it, and we’re always at the end of the phone. With The Hosted Weekend and The Long Weekend, Kim, our Events Manager, coordinates your day so you can be a guest at your own wedding.
Can we visit before booking?
Absolutely, we’d love to walk you around. Tours run on Sunday afternoons — book a time online, or get in touch if none of the times suit.
Do you have preferred vendors we must use?
No, that’s the point of Sunnystones. Bring any caterer, celebrant, photographer, stylist or food truck you love. We share our list of recommended caterers, food trucks and suppliers with every enquiry, so you’ll have a head start if you want one.
Are pets welcome?
Yes! Camp Sunnystones is pet-friendly. Dogs regularly appear in our ceremony photos, usually stealing the show.
Can guests do camp activities?
They can. Archery, canoeing and more, run by our instructors at $150 per instructor per half-day. A Saturday-morning archery tournament is perfect for the morning after.
Is smoking allowed?
Outside only, with butts in the ashtrays and bins provided, as we’re surrounded by beautiful, flammable bush.
